Recreational hiking is a favorite pastime in Camas and there is no shortage of trails, both paved and unpaved, for the hiker in each of us, located within minutes of the Village at Round Lake. More than 312 acres of pathways snake throughout the forest and border the two lakes found at Lacamas Park, including a six-mile walking route around Round Lake.
A short drive down the road provides easy access to major commuter freeways, allowing a simple route to nearby Vancouver or Portland, as well as a quick ride to local mall shopping or local eateries. Renowned restaurants such as Lakeside Chalet or Roots are in close proximity and, for those fancy evenings, Camas Meadows Golf Club is a sure thing. Named as one of the top two Best Public Golf Courses to play in the Northwest by Golf Digest Magazine, Camas Meadows Golf Club has been awarded a four star rating.
For the art aficionado in each of us, Camas offers First Friday Art Walks. This event provides local artists with a live venue to display their craft. Shopping, dining and even projects are available for all patrons.
Camas offers our citizens the best of all worlds – a hybrid of the peaceful life of a small community and availability of all that a large one has to offer.
